What it really costs

Pricing model from the October 2026 comparison matrix. Figures marked (est.) are triangulated from secondary sources, not vendor-published; (secondary) figures come from secondary reporting.

$2/conversation OR ~$500/100K Flex Credits (~$0.10/action); bundled editions since Sep 3, 2026 (Salesforce): Core $195/user/mo incl. 500K Flex Credits/yr, Advanced $395 (1M), Max $550 (2.75M) — replacing Enterprise/Unlimited/Agentforce 1; Data Cloud often largest line

From the research report

Landscape Report, October 2026 edition — §2.1.

Agentic AI layer on Salesforce CRM + Data Cloud: autonomous service/sales/commerce/field-service agents that handle chats and employee workflows, taking actions (lookups, summaries, record updates) via Flow Orchestration. Who: existing Salesforce shops (Enterprise/Unlimited typically); requires Salesforce itself — not standalone. Pricing (no list prices on Salesforce's page — "Contact us"; rates from July–Sept 2026 analyst checks): three meters — $2 per conversation (customer-facing, flat); $500 per 100,000 Flex Credits (~$0.10 per standard 20-credit action, $0.15 per voice action — the model Salesforce now leads with); $5–$550/user/month add-on tiers ($125/user/mo add-ons; "Agentforce 1 Editions" from $550 with annual Flex Credit pool). Cannot mix Flex Credits and Conversations in one org. Update 2026-10-14 (primary: Salesforce news story, Sep 2026): on Sep 3, 2026 Salesforce replaced the Enterprise, Unlimited, and Agentforce 1 editions for Agentforce Sales/Service with bundled Core ($195/user/mo, 500K Flex Credits/yr), Advanced ($395, 1M), and Max ($550, 2.75M) editions that also bundle Slack, analytics, and Premier Success; existing Agentforce 1 customers upgrade to Max at no extra cost. Salesforce's own worked example: a support case at 3 actions = $0.30 on Flex Credits vs $2.00 on Conversations (6.7x spread — the buying model matters more than the headline). Data Cloud grounding is often the largest line item (Starter ~$60,000/yr cited). Integration: days to weeks for pilot on clean data; weeks to months enterprise. Gotchas: session boundaries for "a conversation" aren't publicly defined (get it in the contract); per-conversation billing punishes simple queries; real TCO includes Data Cloud + human seats.

Key limits

Edition prices now published by Salesforce (meters still complex); can't mix billing meters; "conversation" boundaries undefined; punishes simple queries
